Rhine cruise ships do not dock in the old town. They tie up north of the city, in the harbour area of Kleinhüningen, and the exact berth changes from ship to ship. Passengers often discover this only on arrival — with luggage, in an industrial area, far from any taxi rank.

Where do the ships dock in Basel?
At the Westquai and along the Uferstrasse in Kleinhüningen, north of the city, and some in Huningue on the French bank. Roughly 5 km from the centre, 15 km from EuroAirport.
How far is the airport from the ship?
EuroAirport about 15 km, some 25 minutes. Zurich Airport about 95 km, an hour and ten minutes.
Will our luggage fit?
Yes — an electric car with a large boot for up to four passengers, or a minibus seating eight with a separate luggage compartment. Tell us the number of cases when booking.
We arrive a day early. Can you do both journeys?
Yes — airport to hotel on arrival, hotel to ship on embarkation day. Book them together.
Can we take a day trip before sailing?
